VidServe Privacy Policy
Introduction
Thank you for using VidServe. We strictly respect and protect your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how VidServe handles your information when you use our application.
Data Collection and Usage
VidServe is a local video manager and streaming server application.
- 100% Local Execution: All core features of VidServe (including scanning video files, processing metadata, reading/writing configuration settings, and running the HTTP web server) operate strictly on your local machine.
- Zero Data Collection: We do not collect, store, track, or transmit any personal identification data, device metrics, usage analytics, viewing history, or media files to any external remote servers or third parties.
System Permissions
To provide its intended functionality, VidServe requests only the minimum necessary permissions from your operating system:
- File & Directory Access: Required exclusively to read the local video folders and media files explicitly selected by you. VidServe will never read or modify unauthorized files.
- Local Network Access: Required exclusively to launch a local HTTP web server on your machine so you can stream and play videos locally or across your Local Area Network (LAN). It does not initiate unauthorized outbound remote connections.
Third-Party Services & Cookies
- No Third-Party Analytics: VidServe does not integrate any third-party advertising, telemetry, analytics, or tracking SDKs.
- No Tracking Cookies: Neither the app nor its local web server uses tracking cookies or persistent identifiers.
Children's Privacy
Because VidServe collects no personal information, it is safe for users of all ages.
